FAQ for the gathering in Vancouver
Can I bring my spouse/partner?
Yes, of course! They will be subjected to ‘funnel’ references, so please warn then in advance. Some sessions may be more or less interesting for them, so choose whatever aspects seems best, and then just purchase those tickets. It is likely more interesting for partners who spent significant time in Karlskrona.
Can I bring my children?
Yes. In the event that we end up in a pub, the liquor laws in BC won’t allow you to bring lil’ sustain-a-folk inside. If it feels appropriate, perhaps some of the parents can get together and hire a sitter for certain parts of the events.
Can I bring my friend who is also working in the sustainability field?
No. We did try to draw the line around ‘alumni only’ and thus are discouraging you from adding other people to our gatherings. We recognize that they are probably lovely people, but we did want to keep our time to alumni-only (and partners who lived in Karlskrona) in alignment with the majority of comments we got on the surveys.
Is it possible to get financial assistance with the ticket costs for the different sessions?
We hope to be able to offer a couple of subsidies. It will depend on how many people actually buy tickets, and what some of our final costs are. Please write to us with some information on what you can afford, and we can try to help.
When is the last day to sign up/buy tickets?
We are really hoping that you can buy your tickets before Sept. 1. After Sept. 1, we will raise the prices slightly. The final day to buy any tickets will be Sept. 15.
Is it possible to get financial assistance to travel to/from Vancouver?
Unfortunately, we do not have this in our budget.
How do I get to Vancouver?
There are various options. We encourage you to do a little research.
Do I need a VISA to enter Canada?
You might. Please check with your country’s governmental organization(s) for certainty. If you need an official letter of invitation, please let us know.
Where can I ask other questions?
Please check this website and the registration Eventbrite page first, and if you still have questions, please get in touch with the planning committee at email@example.com.
